It's been a little while since I've updated...
A few things have happened. I'm getting a second job at another hotel here in town, I need to get a bit of extra cash for a new car so I'll be working my tush off for the next six or seven months.
Also, I've ranted and raved a bit on here... and it's made me feel better. I think being able to write helps me purge negaitive emotions and also helps me gain perspective.
I have recommended this to a few of my online friends, and my advice may or may not be taken. I don't mind either way... ranting and raving isn't for everyone. I'm half Greek, so it's helps me cool down.
Anyway...
A friend asked me to place a comment she just recently made to an earlier rant here. I agreed. I don't see the harm in posting it, since she feels that she can't rant and rave herself. So here is her response copied exactly:
Subject: Standing Tall and True
It has taken me a long while to respond to this rant. This is what happened.
I was on IM with H. At that time, the site was divided into Departments. This came about because H suggested it in the first place. I asked him how the Departments were running. He said fine.
Now, before I tell you what happened next, I need to explain something.
British humour is very subtle. For example, if A is holding a huge key, B will then ask A, "Couldn't you get anything bigger?" This means, "Heavens. What a huge key!"
So if A says "Remember the Public Relations Department you were handling before? Well, to be honest, it is rather doing better than expected." B then responds, "Oh, good show. Just as well, I did not continue running that ruddy thing, isn't it?"
When H told me that the Departments were fine, I then said, "Oh, just as well, I am not the Head of Admin. then."
H did not catch the joke. He went, "Huh?" So I said, "Well, I was suppose to take over on the 1st Sept from A, but then you suggested this matrix idea."
Of course, so many things occurred then so my being head is no longer even viable. And it was fine. I was happy just being a friend to the site. After all, I have given it every ounce of energy, love and care. It is what it is today because volunteers like you have worked so hard. I have spent so many sleepless nights, much heartache and behind the scenes negotiations.
I told H that what I said was a joke. It was in the past and we should move on. What did he do? As usual, he opened his huge mouth, half cocked and like wormtail to Lord Voldemort, said something to this owner.
This owner then had his girlfriend say "So this is the CUNT who claims to be British and could not speak the King's language?" This was ONLINE with one 16 year old, one 12 year old, 2 15 year olds, and a very very prominent author who saw this ONLINE!!!!He said in response, "BASICALLY."
I graciously left only to be followed with IM to "bugger off" and leave his property alone. He then threatened to write my workplace and reveal every intimate details that he and I were suppose to be privy to ONLINE!
The word "cunt" in the UK, is really the most horrible thing you could say to any body. Not only is it derogatory, it really means that that person is worse than spit.
I am asking all you, dear authors to forgive me for inviting you to this site. I have read your fics and reviewed every chapter. I now feel ashame that I dragged you to this site. I am so sorry that I have even bothered to spend time when my sister needed me. Now she is dead... and all those hours I could have spent with her.... I spent on this site. What a fool I truly was!
I don't think she was a fool at all.
I'm not ranting here, or pointing fingers. I'm doing what my friend asked me to do. It's taken a long time for her to come out and say anything partly about what happened. I applaud her for doing this.
Courage takes on many forms. Some are heros and risk their lives everyday. Some are more quiet, they rise above adversity and stand up silently. Not willing to break, but bend.
Again, no pointing of fingers... no ranting. I'm not doing this for a sense of revenge or anger.
I gave my word that I would not attack a certain person as long as he played nice and didn't bother anyone again. I'll keep it. I don't go back once I've given my word. Since the above response wasn't about him...
