Brrrrrrrrrrr!

It snowed again today. The day before yesterday it snowed a little bit... didn't really stick on my side of town but it did in northwest/west and there were some great pics on the news. Today, I went to my mom's because she wanted to go to a movie. Okay, no problem. Left my apartment and noticed some snow falling, not a lot... reminded me of the other day so I figured it wouldn't be so bad today. Boy was I wrong.

My mom lives off Las Vegas Blvd South past Pebble. We were going to the movies at the South Point which is not far at all from her place. We get in her car (I left my car at her house parked in visitor parking) and we drove to the end of her block and the snow was just coming down hard. Of course my mom is like a little kid, so she's squealing and oohing and awwwing over the wonderful snow. We get to the casino, park and go inside. We just made it to watch the previews and settled ourselves in. After the movie, we went to the front doors and my jaw just dropped. There was so much snow! A lot of cars were just buried and I knew that getting my car scraped off was going to be loads of fun. Now I know that we're nothing like the Northeast and the crazy amount of snow that they get, but this is Vegas. It rarely snows here. I think the last time it did was 2004. So about every four or five years we get snow. LOL.

I did take a few pictures, but no camera cord thingy to download them yet, so once I get one I'll put them up.

Here's a question for my flist. What's the weather like where you're from?

I'm so jealous that you live in Vegas. I know it's unbearable in the summer but I really do have a dream of ditching everything and becoming a Blackjack dealer.

It's 46 degrees and rainy here tonight. Tomorrow the high will be 62, and Friday the high will be 76. That's Texas!

Two days ago it was 60. Last night it snowed, then iced over. Today it was in the high thirties and rainy, and then it all iced over when the sun set.

Yay New England! Driving to work is never the same twice!

It's snowing all over western Washington, many many inches, everywhere except for Seattle proper. The city itself is in this weird blind spot where the weather is PERFECT (not even rain). Just 10 minutes north of us inches of snow are piling up and it looks like the midwest. A was standing at the window earlier tonight scanning the sky for snowflakes; he's hyperventilating about the ski season already. :)

The weather here? I sprained my wrist shoveling with a too-big shovel. Sucks! We're buried. Our entire muffler system is ripped off from trying to get in the driveway. But ... I do love the snow and we made a wall of a snow fort and had some fun too. Today we shoveled out my mother in law and I used a smaller shovel for her porch while Grant used the snowplow but I think my wrist is done for for few days.

I know you aren't used to snow but it must have been fun listening to your mom enjoying it so much. Do you carry a snow brush in the car?

Here's a story to make you laugh, or at least snicker. My brother was coming home from work and it took him almost three hours, poor guy. Well, he had to pee ... so he stopped on the one side of the lift bridge and added another thirty minutes to his trip because the bridge went up and the ship had zero visibility getting through the canal so ... he should have waited. It's funny cause he makes fun of me all the time for whining about needing too many rest breaks. That'll teach him for not taking one sooner!

And, Grant had to tow a police cruiser out of being stuck in the snow today, so that was funny.

How are the animals and plants doing in LV with the snow?!

Tons and tons of snow!
