I'm Blind!

I'm not having a good day.

Yesterday was good. Was surprised with a drive over to Pensacola for the day and I had fun. We returned in the early evening and I was tired, so I popped out the contacts and went to sleep.

Today when I woke up I found my left contact was torn. Crap. Well, no worries. Go to get another contact and find out that the only ones left are for my right eye... which is a lower strength prescription than my left eye. Double crap. How bad could it be? Well... I can't see out of my left eye. At all. The strength is so low all I see is blur. Triple crap.

I can't do anything about it until tomorrow. I hope. I thought I had more contacts. I might have lost them during the move from Birmingham to Gulf Shores. This sucks! I'm getting headaches from closing my left eye and only seeing out of my right. Is there anything I can do? And I have insurance (through Bob's work), but the vision card is the one I'm missing. Lucky me. I'm actually looking out of one eye right now.

Anyway, BD, I hope you have a wonderful Birthday today. *hugs

That sounds horrible (and painful). I was just talking with a friend the other day about getting contacts (I only wear glasses to drive, but I think I should probably wear them more frequently). My left is worse than my right, too, and I was talking to her about the possibilities of getting a contact for just one eye and the upkeep entailed with contacts. I remember my best friend always having contact issues in high school (losing them, cleaning them, having to take them out blah blah), but they've improved dramatically since then (I guess) so...

I hope you get a replacement left contact ASAP. Do you have a pair of glasses you can use in the meantime?

Thanks again for the b-day wishes. My day has been good so far. Very relaxing. Now that A and I are in the same place we're just enjoying the time we can hang out together without having to think about rushing off somewhere.

That sucks, Laree. Grant is nearly blind without his glasses and contacts bother his eyes so he can't wear them much so I have no advice here but I really hope you get new ones tomorrow. Hugs
